Kenny Roberts Won the Expert Class with Peter Chancey Winning Junior Class
In this week’s Throwback we dial back the clock to September of 1973 and arrive at Charlotte Motor Speedway, which was hosting an AMA Road Race National. This photo shows the Expert/Junior Combined (250GP) race. That’s Junior class rider Peter Chancy (54) from Canada about to get passed by Experts Kenny Roberts (80) and Gary Fisher (21). Roberts went on to win the race over Yvon DuHamel and Fisher, while Chancey scored the victory in the Junior class.
