Rieju Factory Team’s Rachel Gutish made history as the first American to win an FIM Enduro World Championship by clinching this year’s Expotrade FIM Women’s Enduro World Championship. She dominated on day two, surging ahead to a decisive victory and easily securing her first World title.

Heading to Germany as the newly crowned Enduro1 World Champion, but just weeks after a heavy crash at round six in Italy, Garcia faced mounting pressure coming into the final round with his EnduroGP-class lead reduced to just 15 points.

The decisive weekend got underway with the Friday night Super Test, where Garcia placed third behind winner Zach Pichon on the TM Moto. Garcia then came out swinging on day one, taking control of the EnduroGP class from the opening test. Garcia took the day’s win by an impressive 47.78 seconds. The result extended his lead at the top of the EnduroGP standings to 18 points.

Despite freezing temperatures and rough, technical conditions on day two, Garcia maintained his composure. Needing only a solid finish to secure the championship, the KTM rider crossed the line as runner-up, just 8.63 seconds behind Andrea Verona (GasGas), which was more than enough to lock in his second consecutive EnduroGP title.

GasGas’ Andrea Verona finished second in the EnduroGP Championship but took the Enduro2 class title.

Garcia finished out the Championship with 244 points, followed by Verona with 229 and Pichon with 195.

“EnduroGP World Champion for the second time! It’s incredible,” Garcia said. “There were moments in 2021, 2022 and 2023 when it seemed impossible, but in 2024 we did it, and this year we’ve kept the number-one plate. It’s been another unforgettable season: World Champion in EnduroGP, E1 and ISDE. Now it’s time to enjoy and take it all in, because tomorrow I’ll really start to realize everything we’ve achieved.

“The conditions weren’t ideal for deciding a title,” Garcia said of the race in Germany. “It’s been a very tough, technical weekend for everyone. I’m super happy to have won on Saturday, both in my class and in EnduroGP, which allowed me to approach Sunday more calmly. Even so, I wanted to keep pushing as hard as possible to stay focused and avoid mistakes. Mentally, it was exhausting, but I fought until the end. I’m happy with how everything has turned out.”

“I’m delighted to defend my Enduro2 title and claim my eighth World Championship,” Verona said. “It’s been a long, hard season of racing. But with this end result, it’s worth it. Right now, I’m looking forward to celebrating!”

Rachel Gutish at 2025 EnduroGP of Germany
American Rachel Gutish (Rieju) wrapped up the Women’s title, becoming the first American World Champion in EnduroGP.

Gutish finished out the season winning both days of the Women’s class. The American was simply unstoppable, favoring the tough and demanding enduro terrain of Zschopau.

With seven test wins out of eight, she took victory by over two minutes. With it, she became the FIM Women’s Enduro World Champion and the first rider from the United States to win a title in the FIM Enduro World Championship.

“It’s hard to put into words just how much this means to me,” Gutish said. “It’s been a lot of work to get to this moment; I’m speechless, but super happy.”

Finishing second in the Women’s Championship, Rosie Rowett of Great Britain ensured the Rieju Factory Team placed 1-2 in the overall championship standings.CN
