In this week’s Throwback Thursday, we feature an image from the 2009 Daytona AMA Pro Superbike race showing Neil Hodgson, on his Corona Extra Honda, narrowly leading Yoshimura Suzuki’s Tommy Hayden.

Hodgson’s second-place finish in this race marked a historic moment—the last AMA/MotoAmerica Superbike podium for Honda until JD Beach’s triumphant third-place finish at Mid-Ohio earlier this month. A 16-year gap between Honda’s storied Superbike racing past with its recent resurgence.
