Saturday, March 12, 2022 will be the 50th anniversary of Don Emde’s 1972 Daytona 200 victory. Join us that day at the Carson Center in Carson, California, for a lunch and PowerPoint photo presentation by Don telling how he won America’s most prestigious motorcycle race.

Milestones achieved with Don’s 1972 Daytona 200 victory:

  • First two-stroke motorcycle to ever win the Daytona 200.
  • Smallest engine size to ever win the Daytona 200 (350cc), matched in 1973 by Jarno Saarinen.
  • First Yamaha to ever win the Daytona 200 (and began a 13-year win streak for Yamaha).
  • First (and still only) father and son to have both won the Daytona 200 (Floyd Emde 1948).

Tickets are $50 and include a PowerPoint photo presentation and a talk by Don on his experience winning America’s most prestigious motorcycle race, a Fiesta Mexican lunch, a copy of Don’s 380-page hardbound Daytona 200 book, and a personally signed and dated photo print of Don and Floyd Emde at Daytona in 1972.
