Peter Hickman (FHO Racing BMW) enjoyed a career-best British Superbike round at Cadwell Park, August 21-22, by claiming the race one and two wins, only to be denied a dream clean sweep by championship leader Jason O’Halloran in race three.

Hickman’s first race win was a relatively dominant one, coming home two seconds clear of O’Halloran with Ducati’s Tommy Bridewell taking the final spot on the podium.

O’Halloran made more of a race of it in the second encounter, finishing 0.155 shy of the win with Bridewell, once again, in third, albeit only 0.817s from winner Hickman.

The Aussie would have his revenge in the final race of the weekend, squeezing out a 0.203-second margin at the flag from Hickman, with Bridewell 2.3 seconds behind for third.

The results gave Hickman the King of the Mountain title, although it was O’Halloran who was laughing the most, extending his BSB title-lead to a massive 119 points from Ducati’s Christian Iddon. O’Halloran’s teammate Tarran Mackenzie lies third, tied on points with Iddon.

In the Supersport class, American Brandon Paasch (Triumph) started the weekend well with a fifth-place finish behind winner Harry Truelove (Yamaha) but crashed out of race two with Truelove taking the double win.
