The Roland Sands Designs Super Hooligan 2017 National Championship concluded on October 14 at Bolsa Chica State Beach, California, in one of the biggest and baddest motorcycle events to hit Southern California in years. Here is a selection of some of the finest shots to come out of Bolsa, an event in which Frankie Garcia won the battle but Andy DiBrino won the war.

Frankie Garcia was in full send-it mode in the final, taking a stunning win in his first RSD Super Hooligan event.You had to look the part if you wanted to race in the retro-shifter class.Old bikes were made for racing.The mini moto event saw some seriously quick youngsters take the stage.Wherever there’s beer, Motogeo’s Jamie Robinson isn’t far away.Nico, the bike-riding Frenchy, tries the Cycle News Yamaha SCR950 on for size.There were some incredible bikes on display from all over the country.Some of the riding skill on display with these old bikes was phenomenal.Former AMA GNC number-one Joe Kopp lost out big time at Bolsa Chica; he led the points going into the meeting but missed out on the title (and a new Indian Scout FTR750) by one point.Wargirl’s lead singer Marika Dahlin shreds it for the masses.Flag girl Leticia Kline sends another two BMW R nineT’s down the Salty Strip for the BMW drag races.Our Road Test Editor Rennie Scaysbrook had a bruising encounter at Bolsa Chica with a big crash, but managed to take second in the B Final.Local Rob Dixon is fast becoming known as the man with the biggest smoke show in Huntington Beach.This is what we call trust!Turn one, lap one of the B Final was a yard sale.The Huntington Beach coastline was at her spectacular best.Kopp (3) tries valiantly to keep his title hopes alive as DiBrino (62), Dash For Cash winner Mikey Hili (63) and Garcia (obscured) lead him in the A Final.Garcia is congratulated by his dad and friends for taking an unexpected win.DiBrino walked away with a $50,000 Indian Scout FTR750 for his Super Hooligan Championship win.
