Valentino Rossi All Set For Aragon – Barely three weeks after breaking his leg, even Valentino Rossi was a surprised to return to MotoGP this early, which he admitted on race eve at Aragon.

“At the beginning, in my mind was to return at Motegi,” he said. But day by day as his recovery went well and his training programme likewise, he was able to move the target forward.
It always depended, he said, “on the type of fracture,” and he had been “lucky to find a very good doctor,” and for the operation to proceed well.
Rossi was able to walk to the platform for the pre-event press conference and explained how his tests on an R1 Yamaha at Misano had been painful, but that he was able to ride. The right-hand corners, on the side of the fracture, had caused more trouble than the left.
Now he was ready to test in FP1 to see if he would be capable of riding at a good level on a full MotoGP bike. If not, Yamaha Superbike rider Michael van der Mark was standing by to take over.
The importance of his early return, said Rossi, was not for the championship, but “this race is very important for the next three races; to be back on the bike as soon as possible.”
