MONTEREY, CA, JULY 18—The almost month long gap between the previous round and Misano allowed the bashed and bruised Leon Haslam some time to fully recover from rib and other injuries suffered in earlier rounds.

“I am back to a normal regime,” Haslam said. “Misano was the first round with no painkillers, from an injury point of view, and since we have been home I have had three weeks with my trainer, three weeks trialing, motocrossing and all the other stuff that I used to get up to before.”

Haslam is now enthused by the fact that the circuits coming up now are the ones that the 2014 Aprilias performed their best at.

“I feel real good now and it has felt like a big long wait for this part of the season,” said Haslam. “This was the turning point for Aprilia last year when they went on their winning streak—the better circuits with the warmer temperatures—so here and Malaysia I am looking forward to. I cannot wait, because I feel we are not a mile away and I feel I have been riding hard to get the results we have got.”
