Garrett Gerloff was unstoppable Sunday in the MotoAmerica Supersport race two on Sunday at road Atlanta. Gerloff raced his Yamalube/YES/Graves Yamaha to a massive 8.63–second margin of victory over Saturday’s winner Josh Herrin. JD Beach finished third.

The victory gave Gerloff the series lead by eight points (65-57) over Beach.  Herrin is third in the standings leaving Road Atlanta with 54 points.

“I appreciate all the stuff my team does for me,” Gerloff said. “It was a long time coming I definitely thought I would win before today, but I’m glad to finally get the first one.”

Gerloff took the lead early and steadily pulled away from the field. Herrin and Beach battled most of the race, with Herrin stretching it out just a tad by the finish. Tomas Puerta and David Anthony, the first non-Yamaha rider, rounded out the top five.

Corey Alexander was out early with a crash. Another contender Benny Solis, Jr. pulled out early with problems with his bike.
