AMA Pro Racing released the 2010 AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Championship schedule today with 19 races slated for 13 markets.

Once again the AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Championship will consist of three series – Expert Singles, Expert Twins and Pro Singles – with the season set to open at the new Daytona Flat Track with a TT on Wednesday, March 3 and a Short Track on Thursday, March 4.

From Florida the schedule takes the flat trackers to a new venue with a Mile scheduled for Yavapai Downs in Prescott, Arizona. The race will be the first at the venue and the only mile event in the western portion of the country. The series will return to Yavapai Downs in October with back-to-back Nationals.

Other first time events include Gas City I-69 Speedway in Gas City, Indiana; the Red Mile in Lexington, Kentucky; Calistoga Speedway in Calistoga, California; Canterbury Park in Minneapolis, Minnesota and a return to I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan.

Annual events will continue at the Springfield Fairgrounds in Springfield, Illinois, Allen County Fairgrounds in Lima, Ohio, Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, Maryland, Beulah Park in Grove City, Ohio, Peoria Race Park in Peoria, Illinois, and the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis, Indianapolis.

“The expansion of the series is exciting news for our fans, riders and sponsors,” said Mike Kidd, Director of AMA Pro Flat Track in a press release. “We continue to work hard to showcase one of the most exciting forms of motorcycle racing in various parts of the country. Our goal is to continue to work with our existing promoters while going out to find aggressive promoters near key markets that will benefit the series.”

AMA Pro Racing will continue to look for additional events to help complete a travel pattern as the series moves across the country, according to AMA Pro Racing.

The Pomona Fairplex Half Mile is not on the schedule despite a successful season-ender being held there last month. The race ended a 10-year-hiatus of AMA Flat Track racing in Southern California.
