James Stewart was quickest in practice at round 13 of the Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series, held in Houston’s Reliant Stadium. The Team Kawasaki rider was over a second faster than Makita Suzuki’s Ricky Carmichael, posting a 42.814-second lap, compared to Carmichael’s 44.352. Team Honda’s Travis Preston was impressive as well, logging the third fastest time with a 45.620.

Team Yamaha’s Chad Reed turned the fourth quickest time, with a 45.661, but later fell on his shoulder coming out of a tight turn and remained on the ground for a few seconds before his mechanic helped him to his feet. After sitting on the side of the track for a while, Reed returned to the track and finished the session.

In the Lites division, Team Honda’s Davi Millsaps led the field with a 45.427-second lap, while Sobe/Samsung/Mobile/Honda’s Josh Grant was next with a 46.417. Grant’s teammate Tommy Hahn was third fastest with a 46.499.

Tonight is the final round of the East Region Lites Series and Millsaps only needs to finish 17th to clench his first-ever Supercross title.
