Guintoli to Compete in London Marathon in Leathers

Press Release | December 2, 2025

Sylvain Guintoli is preparing for an unusual endurance challenge in 2026, announcing that he will run the London Marathon in full racing leathers to raise money for the children’s cancer-support charity, PASIC.

Sylvain Guintoli will undertake the legendary event next year in honor of his late son, Luca.

The former WorldSBK Champion and MotoGP test rider confirmed the effort last week, outlining a training program that blends long-distance running with the added strain of the heavy, heat-retaining RST suit he plans to wear on race day.

According to Guintoli, the idea grew from a desire to create a fundraising effort that would “feel meaningful, difficult and symbolic,” after going through the pain of losing his son, Luca, to cancer in July this year.

PASIC, which provides practical, financial and emotional support to families of young people with cancer across the Midlands, has welcomed the initiative. The charity’s representatives noted that Guintoli’s high-profile participation could significantly boost both awareness and donations ahead of the marathon.

Guintoli has shared early training updates with followers on social media, showing runs completed in full gear around his local roads. He plans to continue documenting the buildup to highlight the charity’s work and encourage contributions in the months leading up to the April 2026 event. CN
