2026 Triumph Thruxton 400 First Look and Specifications

Rennie Scaysbrook | December 17, 2025

Triumph has revived one of its most recognizable nameplates with the introduction of the new Thruxton 400, bringing classic café racer styling to the brand’s expanding 400cc platform.

Power comes from a 398cc single-cylinder TR-series engine, shared with other models in the 400 range but in its most powerful configuration to date. Triumph says the revised engine revs higher and delivers stronger top-end performance while retaining its smooth character. Rider aids include ride-by-wire throttle, switchable traction control, ABS, and a slip and-assist clutch. Instrumentation combines an analogue speedometer with an LCD tachometer and a USB-C charging port.

The Thruxton 400 is undoubtedly one of the most stylish machines in the 400cc category for new street riders.

The chassis and ergonomics are unique to the Thruxton 400, aimed at delivering a sportier riding experience than the Speed 400. Clip-on handlebars are narrower and significantly lower, while the rearset footpegs are positioned higher and farther back, placing the rider in a committed café racer posture.

Suspension consists of 43mm upside-down big piston forks with 5.3 inches of travel and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock providing 130mm of travel. Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires are fitted for increased grip and sharper handling.

Alcantara seat covering is a nice touch.

The Thruxton 400 features a sculpted fuel tank carrying the Triumph triangle badge, paired with a compact front fairing that houses a round LED headlight. Bar-end mirrors, an upswept sport exhaust, and a color-matched bullet-style seat cowl reinforce the café racer theme. A shortened rear fender, minimal number plate hanger, and compact LED taillight complete the look.

Four color options will be available, each featuring contrasting graphics across the tank, fairing, and seat cowl. These include Phantom Black and aluminum with Racing Red accents, Carnival Red Gloss with Aluminum Silver, Pearl Metallic White with Storm Grey and blue highlights, and Metallic Racing Yellow with Aluminum Silver and Phantom Black detailing.
