Spaniard Cardus Topped American John Kocinski and Germany’s Helmut Bradl at Brno

In this week’s Throwback we dial back the calendar 35 years and view the podium for the 250 Grand Prix class of the 1990 Czechoslovakian Grand Prix. Carlos Cardus stands triumphant atop the 250cc podium spraying champagne after a hard-fought victory on his Repsol Honda. Flanking him are American John Kocinski (left), who was runner up riding for Marlboro-Yamaha Roberts, and Germany’s Helmut Bradl who took third. Cardus and Kocinski, fierce rivals all season, battled relentlessly for the 250GP title, with Kocinski ultimately clinching the championship.
