In this week’s episode of Throwback Thursday, we take it back 30 years to 1994 and the AMA Supercross round at Charlotte, North Carolina’s Memorial Stadium. This photo captures the start of the 20-lap main event with Jeff Emig (No. 6) with a slight edge over Doug Henry (on the inside line), Larry Ward (No. 11), Kyle Lewis (No. 53), Damon Huffman (No. 20), Jeff Stanton (No. 5), Steve Lamson (No. 4) and the rest. A moment later a number of these riders were caught up in a pileup crash in the second turn.  Henry was one of the riders who made it through without crashing and led most of the way before being chased down and slammed by Mike LaRocco with an inside block pass. The resulting collision put Henry on the ground while LaRocco went on to win.
