Kyle Regal claimed his third overall victory of the season with a win at the ninth stop of the 2015 AMSOIL Arenacross, featuring Ricky Carmichael’s Road to Supercross. The Husqvarna TiLUBE racer was able to hang on to the championship lead with a win in Southaven, Mississippi. Regal picked up an extra two points by winning the RMATV/MC Head 2 Head Challenge, which later helped tip the scales in his favor after yet another night of incredibly close racing.

In the first main event, Team Babbitt’s Kawasaki’s Chris Blose grabbed the holeshot followed by ThermoTec Yamaha’s Bobby Kiniry, Regal and Gavin Faith, but Kiniry quickly worked his way into the lead. Regal followed suit, also passing Blose and moving into second. Blose would lose one more position before the finish, as Faith took over third. Kiniry took the win followed by Regal and Faith.

In the second main, Faith grabbed the holeshot, followed by Regal and Babbitt’s Kawasaki’s Jacob Hayes. First lap action unfolded behind them as the Husqvarna duo led the way. Regal nearly lost it all when he went off the track late in the race, but he only lost one spot before regrouping and getting back into second. Faith went on to win followed by Regal and Kiniry.

Regal’s 2-2, Faith’s 3-1 and Kiniry’s 1-3 left the top-three in a dead heat for the overall, but Regal relied on his Head 2 Head Challenge win to set him apart. Regal’s win also puts his further out front in the championship, as he now has a 12-point lead over Matt Goerke.

In the Lites division, the first Arenacross champion of 2015 was crowned as Dave Ginolfi wrapped up the Eastern Regional Arenacross Lites Class Championship. Ginolfi’s second-place finish was enough to capture the title with two rounds still remaining. Meanwhile GEICO Honda’s Tristan Charboneau, a Road to Supercross competitor, raced to his very first Arenacross win.
