The amount of Americans in this weekend’s Grand Prix of Aragon has doubld with the announcement this morning that Kenny Noyes will join the Teluru Team JiR Webike squad for Sunday’s Moto2 Grand Prix.

Noyes, who was born in Spain but is an American citizen who has spent most of his adult life in Spain, knows the Motorland Aragon circuit well and has won the last two Spanish Superbike races he has competed in there.

The Moto2 ride is a one-off deal and Noyes will continue his 2014 quest of winning the Spanish Superbike Championship.

“This opportunity came as a complete surprise,” the 35-year-old Noyes said. “It will be fun to get back out there on a Moto2 machine and see how it feels after a year and a half on a Superbike. Motorland is a tough technical track, but I won my last two races there so I think we can have a good race if I can get used to the Moto2 again quickly. I want to thank JiR for the ride and Kawasaki Palmeto for giving me permission to do a one-off ride on a bike that isn’t green.”

Gianluca Montiron, Teluru team JiR Webike’s team owner, is happy to have Noyes on board for the race.

“For Aragon we will warmly welcome American expert rider Kenny Noyes who joins us for this GP in substitution of our official rider Tetsuta Nagashima,” he said. “Kenny already has experience in the Moto2 class and now he’s challenging for the title in the Spanish Superbike Championship. We welcome his experience, as he knows well the track and the competition level of the Moto2 class. Let’s give him a chance to enjoy the MotoGP weekend and the time to adapt to the competitiveness of moto2 with Dunlop tires once again. We give special thanks to Kenny for his trust in us and for the courtesy of his CEV team Palmeto PL racing and Kawasaki. For the coming extra European races we are monitoring the physical condition of our official rider Tetsuta Nagashima hoping he’ll be able to come back for his home GP and for the conclusion of the championship.”
