Jacobsen Tops WorldSSP Superpole Contest
Patrick Jacobsen (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) pulled out another Superpole performance, his second of the year, to lead the 35 WorldSSP riders into the race on Sunday.
Despite missing the first two rounds and not being 100% fit yet, five time champion Kenan Sofuoglu (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) secured a remarkable second place on the grid. Sheridan Morais (Kallio Race System Yamaha) made it a cosmopolitan grid when he took his R6 to third. Kyle Smith (GEMAR Balloons – Team Lorini Honda) added a Honda to the variety in fourth place, with Lucas Mahias (GRT Yamaha Official WorldSSP Team) hitting form on the new R6 at the right time, for a second row start.
Championship leader Roberto Rolfo (Team Factory Vamag MV Agusta) climbed to sixth, and Chang race podium finisher Niki Tuuli (Kallio Race System Yamaha) seventh – the lead rider on row three.
Hikari Okubo (CIA Landlord Insurance Honda) continued to impress in eighth, with his team-mate Robin Mulhauser (CIA Landlord Insurance Honda) ninth and the top ten completed by Christian Gamarino (BARDHAL EVAN BROS. Honda Racing).
ESS rider Alessandro Zaccone (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) kept British rider Gino Rea (Team GO ELEVEN Kawasaki) in 12th place.
Luke Stapleford (Profile Racing Triumph) finished 16th, Kyle Ryde (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) 18th and Aiden Wagner (GEMAR Balloons – Team Lorini Honda) 22nd.
