2017 Arlington 250cc Supercross Results: With only a one-point spread between Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Justin Hill and TLD/Red Bull KTM’s Shane McElrath coming into round six of the 250cc Western Regional Supercross Series, there was a lot riding on the results of the 250cc main event inside AT&T Stadium. Round six was the last race before the West series goes on hiatus, so whoever held the red plate leaving Texas would hold it for a while.

McElrath, to his credit, was prepared to go to battle in Texas. He got the start and flat out put time on Hill in second for most of the first 15 laps of what turned out to be a 20-lap event. But then disaster struck, as McElrath’s KTM pulled up lame and sent him to the mechanic’s area with some sort of an engine/transmission-related mechanical.

With McElrath out, Hill cruised to his fourth win in a row, this time in front of rookie teammate Austin Forkner, whose second-place finish was the best so far in his young career. Yamalube/Star Racing Yamaha’s Aaron Plessinger came through from a terrible start to finish third, and moved into second in the points standings with McElrath’s misfortune.

The problem at this point for Plessinger is that he now sits 21 points behind Hill with only four races left to run.
