Australia’s Josh Hook will move to the World Superbike Championship in 2016 after signing for the second seat at Team Grillini.
The 22-year-old has spent the previous 12 months racing a factory-backed TSR Honda CBR1000RR to 11th overall in the Japanese Superbike Championship, as well as taking second place in the 2015 Suzuka 8 Hour with teammates Dominique Aegerter and Kyle Smith. Hook also replaced the injured Aegerter for four Moto2 races last season while the Swiss recovered from late season injuries.
Hook will partner the already-confirmed Swiss rider Dominic Schmitter at Grillini, although no confirmation has yet been made on the team’s choice of machinery.
