Hopper On Record Pace At Oulton Park

John Hopkins has unleashed the fastest ever lap of the Oulton Park circuit to claim top spot ahead of championship leader Josh Brookes’s Milwaukee Yamaha at Oulton Park ahead of the ninth round of the 2015 British Superbike Championship.
Hopkins denied Brookes yet another Friday provisional pole with a late flyer right at the death of FP2 to steal P1 by a scant 0.054s, the new lap record now standing at 1.35.092sec.
Third went to Brookes’ main title rival, Shane Byrne on the PBM Kawasaki. Australian Brookes and Byrne swapped the top spot constantly throughout the session, only for Hopper to steal it at its conclusion.
Danny Buchan continued his run of good form on the Be Wiser Kawasaki in fourth from Christian Iddon’s Bennetts Suzuki, Luke Mossey, Michael Laverty, Jack Kennedy, Peter Hickman and Richard Cooper rounding out a top 10 that was separated by only 0.899sec.
This weekend also marks the 300th BSB race start for perennial crowd favorite and teammate to Buchan, Chris Walker, who set the 15th fastest time in FP2.
