Birmingham, AL (June 21, 2014) — Josh Hayes joined Roger Hayden and Cameron Beaubier as AMA Pro SuperBike pole winners in 2014. Hayes won the pole Saturday at Barber Motorsports Park, pushing his Monster Energy/Graves Yamaha to a time of 1:25.063. That was nearly 7-10ths better than second-place qualifier Hayden, who is joined by his Yoshimura Suzuki teammate Martin Cardenas on the front row.

The surprise of the session came when series co-leader Cameron Beaubier crashed. His team will be scrambling to get his bike together for the race this afternoon. He had a time good enough in the final Q3 session to put him on the pole for row two where he will start alongside David Anthony and Chris Fillmore.

“It was slippery out there,” Hayes said of the hot racing surface. “I was surprised I went as fast as I did this morning. It’s going to be a hard race. It’s so slippery it’s a bit like riding in the rain.”
