Supercross: Drama Already At Toronto Supercross

Practice and qualifying isn’t quite wrapped up yet but there has already been some drama today at the Toronto round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series at the Rogers Centre.
First of all, 450-class points leader Ryan Villopto has not ridden yet. Reports have it that Villopoto is suffering with a bout of food poisoning, so it is not yet known what his status will be later tonight. Despite not qualifying he’ll still be able to lineup for the main with the 21st gate pick. He is still, however, very ill.
In the 250 East class, points leader Adam Cianciarulo crashed in the second practice session and dislocated his shoulder and had the shoulder put back in place by the Asterisk medical crew. Cianciarulo came back out and rode the final 250 timed session and was 13th quickest in his group. He is expected to ride tonight.
Yoshimura Suzuki’s James Stewart appears to be the rider to beat in the 450 class. The Detroit winner was quickest in both 450 timed sessions, as was Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Martin Davalos in the 250 class.
