Blazusiak Takes Charge At Washington EnduroCross

In front of a sold out crowd at Everett, Washington’s Comcast Arena, KTM’s Taddy Blazusiak came away with the win in round five of the GEICO AMA EnduroCross Series, October 19. But the defending EnduroCross champ had to work for it.

Blazusiak got off to a fast start and was leading when he and teammate Mike Brown got stuck on the track’s rock pile section on the second lap, handing the lead over to Beta’s Cody Webb.

Webb, who has been giving Blazusiak fits through out the season, took command of the race and was in position to get his first ever EnduroCross win when he slid out in a turn two laps from the finish, handing the lead back to Blazusiak. Webb’s problems weren’t over yet. While chasing Blazusiak, Webb stalled his bike and struggled to get it re-lit. After putting in a strong ride, Webb had to settle for a disappointing 10th.

Blazusiak went on to win, while Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Taylor Robert fought through the pack to finish second.

The final spot on the podium came down to a battle between Brown and Canadian Bobby Prochnau, who passed Brown on the last lap to finish third, putting two KTMs on the box.

Husqvarna’s Kyle Redmond and Cory Graffunder found a way around Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Justin Soule to take fifth and sixth, respectively.

Soule finished out the race in seventh, followed by Honda rider Jamie Lanza, Honda/Christini’s Geoff Aaron and Webb.

Kawasaki rider Colton Haaker completed the field in 11th.
