Red Bull Honda’s Ashley Fiolek won’t be racing in this year’s X Games, the two-time gold medalist opting out of the event after not sufficiently recovering from the concussion she suffered the first Saturday in June at the Lakewood Women’s Motocross National in Colorado.
“It is with great sadness that I must withdraw from the 2012 ESPN X Games,” Fiolek said in a release. “I am absolutely heartbroken that I will miss this year, but I need to do what is right for my health and my future”
Fiolek also missed the Mt. Morris round of the Women’s Motocross Nationals last week.
