Spanish road racer Joan Lascorz is still in the Intensive Care Trauma Unit of the Vall d’Hebron hospital in Barcelona, Spain, the Kawasaki World Superbike racer still recovering from the testing crash at Imola on April 2 that left him with vertebra damage.
According to the official World Superbike website, doctors started to wake Jascorz from his induced coma on Friday, April 6, but opted the following day to keep him sedated. Lascorz still has mucus in his lungs and was moving a lot so doctors decided to keep him in the induced coma for four additional days until his lungs clear.
Until the doctors opt to bring him out of his coma, the extent of his back injury Lascorz’s back injury won’t be known, the website states.
Starting today, Lascorz’s Facebook page will carry updates regarding his recovery.
