Wyman Wins Vance & Hines XR1200 Final

DAYTONA BEACH, FL, MAR. 16 – You play cat and mouse often enough and the mouse will eventually win. That’s what happened on the final lap of the Vance & Hines XR1200 final as Bartel’s Harley-Davidson’s teammates Michael Barnes and Tyler O’Hara tried to outsmart each other in the drafting war to the finish – only to watch helplessly as Kyle Wyman rode past both of them on the Vesrah/Kyle Wyman Racing Harley.

Wyman, who had qualified on pole and was the fastest XR1200 rider all weekend, put himself in the best position possible and as the two ahead of him weaved their way around the banking trying to hold each other off, he simply drafted past the both of them to score the victory – his second in a row at Daytona.

“It’s been a near perfect weekend,” Wyman said. “It was a fun race. I can’t say enough about the whole crew, my dad, my Uncle Bill. I finally got my own program going and it’s awesome. There’s no better feeling.”

Second place went to O’Hara with Barnes, who led out of the chicane on the final lap, dropping to third.

“First of it was a real close call and I just made the sighting lap with 30 seconds to spare,” Barnes said. “It was a little stressful going to the line. We knew what it was going to be like. I can’t thank Josh Chisum enough for putting this effort together along with Bartels Harley Davidson.”
