Interview: Trey Canard – Not Again

Kit Palmer | February 7, 2012

You might say that Trey Canard just can’t catch a break, but that really wouldn’t be very accurate. Instead, that’s all he’s been catching lately. But not the good kind.

It all started in 2008 when the Oklahoman broke his femur while competing in the 250cc class at the Washougal National MX in Washington. He eventually recovered and went on to win championships in both Supercross and motocross before moving up to the 450cc class full time in 2011 on the factory-supported Honda team. All was going well – perhaps even better than expected – when he suffered a non-displaced facture to his femur while practicing in California during the week and was forced to sit out the second half of the 2011 Supercross Championship and wait to prepare for the outdoor championship, which were just a few months away.
