Metcalfe Ready To Roll

Brett Metcalfe says he’s ready, the lone member of the Yoshimura Suzuki Racing team set to get down to business as the AMA Supercross season rapidly approaches.

“I’m really excited about Anaheim I,” Metcalfe said in a team release. “Last season I had a tough time and I made some mistakes that took me out of the Supercross Championship, but I learned a lot. We really hit some points in the off-season testing and, right now, I think I’m riding the best Supercross I ever have. I’m excited about that and I can’t wait until January 7th comes around and we get to go racing. I think we’ll be well prepared and hungry to get out there. I’m just looking forward to going for those race-wins and putting the Yoshimura Suzuki RM-Z450 up front.”

Last year, Metcalfe made his debut in the Supercross class at the season-opening Anaheim with an eighth-place finish. Although injuries shortened the Australian’s 2011 Supercross campaign, he showed his ability during the AMA Motocross National Championship, scoring an overall win, two podiums and three top-five finishes en route to ending the season fourth in the championship.

“We’re really looking forward to the upcoming 2012 season and we’re excited about Anaheim I,” said Yoshimura Suzuki team manager Mike Webb. “We are extremely happy to have Brett as part of our team and are looking for great things from him. Metty has shown he has the stuff to win and is a great ambassador for the sport and a quality-representative for Yoshimura and Suzuki.”
