Fahie Named Kawasaki Team Manager

Former Team Muzzy and Kawasaki Superbike crew chief Dan Fahie has been named as the team manager of the Monster Energy Kawasaki Supercross/Motocross team, replacing Mike Fisher who was let go by Kawasaki last month.Fahie, who has in he past worked on both Honda’s and Kawasaki’s AMA road race teams (including stints with all three Hayden brothers – Tommy, Nicky and Roger Lee), will manage the team of Ryan Villopoto and Jake Weimer in 2012.In addition to his extensive background in motorcycle racing, Fahie also has a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Dalhousie University in Canada. He began his racing career in 1997 as a Superbike technician for Muzzy Kawasaki. He was the crew chief for three AMA Supersport Championships (2004, 2005 – Tommy Hayden; 2007 – Roger Lee Hayden).When Kawasaki dropped its road racing program, Fahie was kept on at Kawasaki, working at the Irvine, California, headquarters as racing development engineer supervisor where he started working with the factory supercross/motocross team.”Dan is a great fit for our supercross/motocross program,” said Reid Nordin, Monster Energy Kawasaki senior racing manager. “His strong engineering background and team management skills will help keep Monster Energy Kawasaki as one of the elite teams in the paddock.”
