Irvine, CA (October 18, 2011) – Zip Ty Husqvarna’s Cory Graffunder was title threat leading into the 2011 GEICO AMA EnduroCross series, presented by Lucas Oil. The 22 year old Canadian had proven to be a regular podium contender in 2010 and finished fourth in the championship. He is an “Extreme” race specialist that won the 2010 Xtinction Enduro in Canada and has had top finishes in several international events including Erzberg. EnduroCross is his primary focus and he was fired up to contest for the championship when he broke his wrist while training just days before the X Games opener. So he has sat helplessly on the sidelines and missed the first five rounds of the 2011 series but is looking forward to finally racing at the Boise, Idaho event this coming weekend.

“I will get a solid three days of EX riding in before the Zip Ty Husqvarna truck leaves for Boise so my expectations can’t be too high, especially with the level of riding I have seen this year in the EnduroCross series” Graffunder stated. “My goal will be to ride safe and not re-injure my wrist and of course make the main event. If I can make the main, it will be a good test of how much ground I have lost in the last couple of months off the bike. I have been training a lot but riding is much different and EnduroCross is tough even when you are prepared”. So look for the number 4 Husqvarna in Boise and especially in Las Vegas, when he will have a lot more seat time under his belt.
