Archives: Motocross des Nations 1992

It was supposed to come to an end in 1992. Team USA had been assembled for the Motocross des Nations that year, but it didn’t include the country’s two biggest motocross stars – Jeff Stanton and Damon Bradshaw. Plus the prestigious international competition was to be held in an Australian sandbox called Cosy Creek. All the pundits said the 11-year reign atop the Motocross des Nations was over for the Americans. Surely the talented squads from Belgium, France, the Netherlands or Great Britain would come away with the title. But a young trio of Americans – Jeff Emig, Mike LaRocco and Billy Liles – would show the world just how deep the talent pool in America had become.
