Area Qualifiers are first step to 2011 AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship
The following is a release from the AMA…PICKERINGTON, Ohio — The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA), in partnership with MX Sports, is pleased to announce the 2011 Area Qualifiers that will be the first step to the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at the Loretta Lynn Ranch on Aug. 1-6.
“MX Sports does a great job organizing and running the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship, from the Area Qualifiers to the Regionals to the final at the Loretta Lynn Ranch,” said AMA Director of Racing Joe Bromley. “We’re excited to see the finishing touches put on one of 2011’s most anticipated schedules.”
The Area Qualifiers determine the fields for the seven Regional Championships, which were announced in early December. The full schedule is included below.
“It’s every amateur motocross racer’s dream to win at Loretta Lynn’s,” said AMA Motocross Manager Kip Bigelow. “No matter who you are — returning superstar or a first-time racer — that dream begins at the Area Qualifiers. We wish all our racers good luck during the 2011 season.”
The AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship includes classes for riders from 4 years old to 50-plus on a range of motorcycles, including 50cc minibikes to state-of-the-art highly modified 450cc motocross machines.
The AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship, produced by MX Sports, is the premier amateur motocross event in the country. Nearly every professional racer competing in the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship earned his way to the pro ranks through the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at the Loretta Lynn Ranch.
