Everts Renews With KTM

KTM announced this weekend that Stefan Everts has renewed his contract for another three years, which will see him managing the Red Bull/KTM Factory motocross effort in Europe.

The 10-time World MX champ was instrumental in the development of KTM’s new 350 SX-F, which Antonio Cairoli rode to this year’s MX1 world championship.

Everts met with U.S. team manager Roger DeCoster, KTM CEO Stefan Pierer and KTM Racing Boss Pit Beirer, at the company headquarters in Mattighofen, Austria to plan for the 2011 season and beyond. According to Beirer, KTM’s task for 2011 is to further secure their dominance in Europe while laying the foundation for similar performances in U.S. competition in the AMA Supercross and Motocross series.

“We are naturally delighted to welcome both Stefan and Roger to Mattighofen and of course to have signed Stefan for another three years,” said Beirer. “With him and Roger onboard for the new US teams, we can now move forward with some major plans for KTM Racing. There will be many challenges, including maintaining our dominance here in Europe while establishing the team as a force in the USA, but with Roger and Stefan we have the right people. Both are hugely experienced and highly respected.”
