2011 Moto2 Teams Announced

The Moto2 grid will be made up of 40 riders from 22 teams after the final selection was made by the Selection Committee in Estoril, Portugal today.The Selection Committee, made of delegates from the FIM, Dorna and IRTA, made the final selection on the day of the Portuguese Grand Prix.Of the 22 teams chose, 18 will feature two riders with four one-rider teams.The majority of the accepted teams raced in this year’s inaugural Moto2 World Championship, though there are a number of new teams.The team now have until November 5 to confirm their riders and until 12 November to pay a security deposit with IRTA. The roster of teams will only change if any of the accepted teams propose riders not acceptable to the Committee, or if the security deposit is not paid.Already a few teams have announced their riders. Tech 3 today announced that Bradley Smith and Mike di Meglio would replace their current riders. Interwetten Honda Moto2 will continue with Tomas Luthi. MZ recently signed former World Superbike rider Max Neukirchner to one of their two seats. Pramac Racing Ducati rider Aleix Espargaro will join Sito Pons’ Tenerife 40 Pons team next year. Kenny Noyes is expected to continue with the Jack & Jones by Antonio Banderas team.Accepted Teams:
