The following press release is from Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca…2011 RED BULL U.S. GRAND PRIX, JULY 22-24The MotoGP World Championship returns to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca on July 22-24, 2011 along with the rising stars of AMA Pro Racing Series for the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix. The 2011 race marks the seventh consecutive visit for MotoGP and AMA racing together at the historic Monterey circuit.

The Global Tuner Grand Prix on October 22-24 is heating up with many tuner dignitaries joining the event.

European Car Magazine has announced it will hold a European Car Tuner Challenge and the team from Road and Track magazine will join the Global Tuner Grand Prix street class with the latest offering from Mitsubishi the Lancer EVO 10 SE.

The popular blog site Renntack.com has entered Porsche cars in the Global Tuner Grand Prix race in both the Tuner and Unlimited Class.

The aftermarket brake company StopTech is joining the Global Tuner Grand Prix Challenge race with a Mitsubishi Evo 10 driven by StopTech’s Co-Founder Steve Ruiz Jr. and a Porsche 997 WC-GT3 Cup car driven by World Challenge’s Dino Crescentini.

Yamaha rider Josh Hayes is leading the National Guard AMA Superbike Championship with one race to go. Hayes recently won two races at New Jersey Motorsports Park and has a commanding title advantage heading into the AMA season finale at Barber Motorsports Park on September 24-26.PETIT LE MANS

The largest field for a race in the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón in more than seven years will be witnessed at Road Atlanta. The 1,000-mile/10-hour race on September 29- October 2 serves as the final round of the 2010 season with championships in all four classes coming down to the wire.In the LMP class, it’s a race between Patrón Highcroft Racing and Muscle Milk Team CytoSport. Patrón Highcroft’s David Brabham and Simon Pagenaud are leading the championship, with Muscle Milk’s Klaus Graf sitting 16 points behind Brabham and Pagenaud.

In the GT class Jörg Bergmeister and Patrick Long are looking for their second straight title with Flying Lizard Motorsports and lead Risi Competizione’s Gimmi Bruni by 22 points.

MAZDA/SPEEDSOURCE CLAIM GT CROWNA trio of Mazda SpeedSource drivers ended their battle for the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series GT driving championship this past weekend at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah.

Jeff Segal and Emil Assentato in the No. 69 FXDD Mazda RX-8, leaders of the standings since late April, captured the class championship, but the pair didn’t win the title without a little drama. Assentato spun during his stint and Segal was involved in car-to-car contact on the final lap.Mazda wrapped up the Rolex Series GT manufacturer championship, and team championships, making it an all-Mazda Championship.
