MONTEREY, CA, JULY 23 – Graves Motorsports Josh Herrin led a red-flag interrupted first practice session in the Daytona SportBike class at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca today, the championship points leader lapping at a best of 1:28.483 – the only rider to crack the 1:29 barrier on a sunny day on teh Monterey Peninsula.Latus Harley-Davidson’s Steve Rapp was second best on his Ducati, the Californian lapping at 1:29.048 to hold off M4 Monster’s Marin Cardenas. Fourth in today’s opening session went to Danny Eslick, the Geico Insurance-backed Suzuki rider who trails Herrin in the title chase by just two points.Friday Practice1.
