Doug Polen to Mid-Ohio

The following is a press release from AMA Pro Racing…Announced after the release of the AMA Pro Racing Daytona SportBike presented by AMSOIL preview, one of the most prolific motorcycle road racers in the history of the sport will be rejoining the AMA Pro Road Racing scene at the Honda Super Cycle Weekend presented by Dunlop Tire at Mid-Ohio Sport Car Course, July 16-18, 2010. 

Twenty-nine time AMA Pro Road Racing winner and four-time World Champion Doug Polen will be reunited on the track with the iconic Ducati brand that brought him so much success worldwide. Polen has been conducting rider’s schools for Ducati North America.     

Polen will be teamed with the 2009 AMA Pro SunTrust Moto-GT2 Championship winning team, Ducshop Racing. This will be the third event in 2010 for Ducshop Racing and with four-time Mid-Ohio winner Polen aboard, they look to improve on their two top ten finishes so far this year. 

Polen’s accomplishments in the sport of motorcycle racing are legendary and the entire AMA Pro Road Racing community welcomes him back to once again thrill fans and competitors alike with his enormous speed and skill.

The Honda Super Cycle Weekend Presented by Dunlop Tire at the famous Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course begins on Friday, July 16th with practice and qualifying in three of the four AMA Pro classes.  Fans will have a chance to meet Polen and all of the other riders on Saturday and Sunday during the AMA Pro Fan Grid Walk and Dunlop Autograph session on Sunday.  Final qualifying and the first of two weekend races will begin on Saturday, July 17th with more races including the Vance & Hines XR1200 series on Sunday, July 18th.
