GAS CITY, Ind. (June 5, 2010) – Heavy afternoon rains ended any hope of running the AMA Pro K&N Filters Grand National Championship presented by Motorcyclesuperstore.com tonight at Gas City/I-69 Speedway in Gas City, Indiana.

The area was drenched with rain Friday night and another major rain storm passed over the track at around 1:00 p.m. this afternoon. Track officials tried to scrape the racing surface, but found the mud was four inches thick and it was determined the track could not be made safe for the riders. Shortly before 2:00 p.m. the announcement was made that the race was officially rained out.

AMA Pro Racing’s Mike Kidd said the details are yet to be worked out on rescheduling the race, but that an announcement would be made soon.

The next scheduled round of the championship is in Lima, Ohio, on Saturday, June 26.
