Bonsey To Join Roberts At Infineon

Press Release | May 14, 2010

The following is from Ace Racing…Ace Racing is pleased to announce the team will make its AMA Pro Racing debut this weekend May 14-16 at Infineon Raceway, with Kurtis Roberts returning to AMA American Superbike aboard the Ace Racing Yamaha R-1, along with Stevie Bonsey making his AMA debut in Daytona Sportbike on the Ace Racing Yamaha R-6.Although the two ex-grand prix racers have only had one quick shakedown test on the Ace Racing Yamahas leading into the weekend, hopes are high that the pair can put their experience to work and become an instant force to be reckoned with. Ace Racing has secured the services of Lee’s Cycle to build some super fast engines and Jun Suganuma to tune the Ohlins suspension, along with LeoVince for exhausts, so there is no doubt the machines will be up to the task at hand. In fact, the relative inexpensive cost in building an AMA American Superbike-spec machine was part of the reasoning behind Ace Racing’s decision to make the leap to AMA Pro Racing competition.”With the way the rules are now, the cost isn’t so extreme any longer, which makes it a lot easier for up and coming teams to make the jump up to AMA and actually be competitive,” said Ace Robey, president of Ace Racing, LLC. “Considering that as well as the excellent support of our sponsors, the time was right for us to make the step up and we are very excited to see what we can do. It will also be great to see Kurtis and Stevie back out on the track finally, and I am happy to be able to give them the opportunity.”Look for Roberts and Bonsey on the track starting Friday at Infineon Raceway, and make sure to stop by the Ace Racing pits those of you that make it out to the races during the weekend!Ace Racing would like to thank our sponsors: Yamaha Motor Corp.
