With a light rain falling off and on, Josh Grant topped practice this morning at round seven of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championships at Spring Creek Motocross Park in Millville, Minnesota, a second-session 2:03.664 earning the JGR/Toyota Yamaha rider first pick on the gate for today’s race.

Chad Reed circulated the loamy, undulating course another 0.284 seconds back for second fastest time on his Rockstar Makita Suzuki, while third quickest time went to Team Yamaha’s Josh Hill, the factory Yamaha rider attempting to get back on track after suffering various ailments for most of the series.

Wrapping up the top five were Suzuki’s Michael Byrne and Suzuki City’s Matt Goerke.

Factory Honda riders Ivan Tedesco, Andrew Short and Davi Millsaps (who was making his return to the series after suffering a neck and back injury earlier in the year) were far down the list, with Tedesco faring the best at seventh-fastest, while Millsaps was 10th and Shorty 13th.

Christophe Pourcel led the way in the 250 class, turning a 2:03.292 on his Monster Energy Kawasaki, giving him the fastest time of the two classes. Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey was second fastest with Yamaha’s Broc Tickle was third.
