Springfield Mile Results on Hold

It was learned on Monday (May 25, 2009) that the results of Sunday’s Springfield Mile are provisional. According to race officials a field test revealed the fuel from winner Bryan Smith’s Screamin’ Eagle Harley-Davidson to be illegal. Samples will be taken in for further testing and until those results come in Smith is still listed as the winner, but the race results are provisional.
JR Schnabel was disqualified from his second-place finish in Saturday night’s Springfield TT due to an alleged illegal frame being used on his Memphis Shades Yamaha. Schnabel strongly denied that his team was using a non-production frame. He said they will appeal the decision.
