Lavilla To Replace Roberts

Spaniard Gregorgio Lavilla will take over for the injured Brandan Roberts in the South African round of the World Superbike Championship this coming weekend, according to sources in Europe.Lavilla will join Jakub Smrz in the Guandalini Ducati team. It also marks his return to Ducatis – with Lavilla riding the Italian V-twins to the British Superbike title in 2005. Last year, Lavilla ended up 12th in the championship on a Vent-Axia Honda.Roberts was involved in the horrific first-turn crash in the first of two World Superbike races yesterday at Monza.
