Raines Fights Back For National HS Win

| July 9, 2007

Am-Pro Yamaha’s Jason Raines returned to action from a lengthy layoff with a leg injury and won the Emerald Trail Rider Association’s Rock Hill AMA National Hare Scrambles in Lebanon, Oregon, July 8. The former hare scrambles champ, however, had to work for it in the hot, dry and dusty conditions.

Raines completed the first lap in fourth place and slowly worked his way up to the front, passing KTM riders David Kamo, Robbie Jenks and Justin Williamson along the way. Raines got around leader Williamson on the second-to-last lap, eventually crossing the finish line 26 seconds ahead of the KTM rider. Beta-mounted Jordan Brandt ended up third, just eight seconds behind Williamson.

Jenks led the first couple of laps before falling back a few positions. The defending champ ended up fourth, followed by Kamo.
