Demuth Holds On In Minneapolis

| February 6, 2006

After two nights of racing at the Target Center in Minneapolis, February 3-4, the BooKoo Arenacross Series enters the final round with the championship still undecided. Although he failed to finish on the podium either night, Josh Demuth rode through the pain of several injuries to score valuable championship points and go into the last round in Tulsa with a 61-point lead over Shane Bess. Tom Hofmaster is still in contention, another seven points back. There are 80 points available in the final round.

Friday night saw both of Demuth’s closest pursuers gain ground in the championship. Hofmaster took the 250 main over Bess and Damine Plotts, while Bess won the 450 main, with Tiger Lacey and Hofmaster filling out the podium. On Saturday, it was all Josh Woods. Coming back from an injury, he overcame a crash-filled Friday night to sweep both mains on Saturday. Michael Blose and Bess finished 2-3 in the 250 main, while Lacey and Hofmaster followed Woods to the flag in the 450 Main.
