The following release is from Scott Summers’ publicist…

Honda’s Scott Summers, who suffered a race-ending crash at last week’s Grand National Cross Country Series in South Carolina, underwent successful surgery yesterday to repair his broken clavicle.

“Dr. Ting used a plate and screws to repair Scott’s clavicle,” said Summers’ trainer Jeff Spencer. “We anticipate that Scott will be able to begin riding again within a couple of weeks.”

Spencer added that Ting said “It was a clean break and everything went well.”

Summers is focusing on returning to GNCC action at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch (Tenn.), April 17-18. He is currently in 6th place overall in the GNCC standings.
