Kentucky AMA National Washes Out

| July 13, 2002
Round nine of the AMA Progressive Insurance U.S. Flat Track Championships, which was scheduled to take place at Thunder Ridge Raceway in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, tonight, was rained out. With a rainy forecast for the rest of the rest weekend, AMA Pro Racing officials have decided not to chance returning for tomorrow either.

Instead, the event has been postponed until next Saturday, July 20. The schedule change means that many racers will have to decide between returning to Kentucky for the AMA event or heading to Duluth, Minnesota, for the Formula USA National Dirt Track Series event which was already scheduled.

Anyone wanna bet that the Weather Channel will experience a tiny spike in viewer ratings around next Thursday?
