AMA Arenacross is coming to the Sturgis Buffalo Chip on August 7. This marks the first time an AMA Arenacross Championship event will be held at the Buffalo Chip during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. With a brand-new three-year deal, the event will feature 20 of North America’s top AX racers battling for the “King of the Chip” title.

“The tradition of racing at the Sturgis Rally goes back 85 years, and this AMA Arenacross event at the Buffalo Chip is the next big thing in a long line of traditions,” said Sturgis Buffalo Chip CEO Rod Woodruff. “The jumps, the speed, the skill and the electric feeling of the Buffalo Chip amphitheater during a race is something that can’t be explained in words, you just have to experience the high-flying, white knuckle action for yourself.”
“Watching Arenacross in the amphitheater from a steel bridge, or watching a Marilyn Manson concert from atop an Arenacross jump while someone highwire walks over you after the races is one of those things that you just can’t get anywhere else,” says Daymon Woodruff, president of the Sturgis Buffalo Chip. “You want unique experiences and races? Well, here you have it. There ain’t no Arenacross like this Arenacross. How’s that for honoring, and adding something new to, the racing tradition of the Sturgis Rally?”

“As Director of Operations for AMA Arenacross, I’m thrilled to bring the high-octane battle of AX to the legendary Buffalo Chip during Bike Week,” said Shawn Smith. “Arenacross’s intense on-track battles and heart-pounding action perfectly matches the wild, jam-packed energy of the Buffalo Chip. This is motocross mayhem at its finest, and we can’t wait to light up the Chip with an unforgettable show!”
In addition to the Arenacross, the Buffalo Chip will also host a variety of other events, including concerts, bike shows and stunts. The action kicks off at 7 p.m. (MT), with LIVE coverage streaming on RydeTV.
