Aprilia Racing Team Gresini made it official—Stefan Bradl will join Alvara Bautista on the factory Aprilia squad for the remaining nine 2015 MotoGP World Championship rounds. The 2011 Moto2 World Champion will make his first appearance on the Aprilia RS-GP at the upcoming Indianapolis Grand Prix on August 7-9.

The announcement comes after much speculation about the natural fit, as Aprilia had split with rider Marco Melandri earlier this July and Bradl was left without a team following the recent incarceration of Forward Racing boss Giovanni Cuzari.

Bradl is also returning from a fractured scaphoid in his right wrist suffered during the Dutch GP at Assen that forced him to miss his home race at Sachsenring on 12 July.
