It’s Coming! Honda Reveals All-New Africa Twin
| May 12, 2015
Honda will finally go head first into the big-bore adventure market with news this morning of the impending release of an all-new machine, dubbed the CRF1000L Africa Twin.
Honda sent tongues wagging at EICMA last year when they showed the True Adventure prototype. But at that stage there was no guarantee the machine would reach production. Now Honda will go head to head with BMW’s R 1200 GS, KTM’s 1190 Adventure, as well as fellow Japanese manufacturers in Suzuki (V-Strom 1000) and Yamaha (Super Tenere).
Named so after the legendary Paris-Dakar XRV650 and 750 Africa Twin racers, the CRF1000L Africa Twin will be released in the US early next year and will come with an updated evolution of the Honda-only Automatic Dual Clutch Transmission.
At this stage the specifications are sketchy, but as soon as we have more details we’ll pass them onto you.
